    Shahram is a serial entrepreneur, executive and investor who has backed some of the most transformative companies in the life sciences, including billion-dollar gene therapy leader Rocket Pharma (NASDAQ: RCKT), Counsyl (acquired by Myriad), Bina (acquired by Roche), and Avantome (acquired by Illumina). Civilization Ventures is helping build a new generation of category-defining companies such as Omada Health (digital therapeutics), Evonetix (gene synthesis) and CatalogDNA (DNA data storage). Prior to starting Civilization Ventures, Shahram was the founding CFO of NextBio, a genomics pioneer acquired by Illumina, and the founding CEO of Rgenix, a biotech company which today has multiple first-in-class cancer therapeutics in human clinical trials. Shahram graduated with a JD from Harvard Law School, where he was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard International Law Journal, and he has a degree in Economics from Pomona College.
