Associate Founder Singularity University I like building infrastructures: mobile, media, wireless, internet, health, biology; silicon valley veteran
I've invented twisted pair networking ("BaseT") standard internet wiring and extended broadband infrastructure for cable, telco, grid, wireless, & mobile internet. I also first commercialized digitized sound in computers and sound standards for internet -- these became standards for internet connectivity, apps, games, media, phones, speech, VoIP, iPods, tablets, computers, routers, music, internet video, entertainment, voice AI and internet infrastructure generally.
I've bootstrapped a company from 0-300 employees by frugal operations (no early investors, profitable from sales & operations), then raised VC, M&As, and IPO.
A decade of biophysics at UC Berkeley, a Lester Fellow, served HMS's Genetics Advisory Council, Trustee at Santa Fe Institute, Trustee at Singularity University & assisted multiple related ventures. I'm active in digital biology infrastructure, AI, and mobile services.
