- Co-founded Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in 1974 and served as its Chairman until 1995. Over 20-year period, grew the agency from a start-up organization to world's leading talent agency, representing more than 1,000 of the most notable actors, directors, musicians, screenwriters, & more.
- Known for innovating 'package deals' in film industry, significantly increasing leverage of both agency and talent.
- Helped negotiate Matsushita's acquisition of MCA/Universal, financial rescue of MGM/United Artists, Sony's acquisition of Columbia Pictures, etc.
- Shook up the advertising industry by winning Coca-Cola's global advertising account in 1991.
-Served as President of the Walt Disney Company, from October 1995 to January 1997.
-Launched Venture Capital Fund Broad Beach Ventures in 2010, investing in Medium, Palantir, Klout, Blend Labs, HipSwap, Factual, and more, among a select group of angel investors.
