The first reason is that building Internet of Things applications is pretty complicated. There are lots of moving parts, and these parts are changing at a rapid pace. Making seed investments in good IoT businesses is even more complex. Meanwhile, good decisions are usually simple. We can simplify the complexity if we break it down into smaller topics that answer discreet questions. I started to list questions in my mind, and it turns out to be pretty long. There are way more topics to cover on the foundations of IoT applications and the hallmarks of good investment opportunities than a single web page can cover. It's just much easier to break this problem into smaller pieces with weekly updates on IoT foundations and investment criteria.
The second reason is that communities of talented people are usually much better at solving complex problems than individuals working alone. Sharing knowledge, ideas and observations for conversation with a group of like-minded people usually helps everyone learn a lot faster. Creating that community also creates synergies for entrepreneurs and investors who want to bring new things to the world to solve new problems. And yes, it also generates more leads for good investment opportunities.

I listened to the Hard Thing about Hard Things over the holidays. It gave me enough flashbacks to The Struggle that I bought copies for all of my CEO partners. I hope they find comfort and camaraderie reading and living it together.
