Defined a rich e-mail services platform where outgoing email is branded regardless of email client and allowed end users to enhance email with multimedia objects. Product was used by over 250,000 people and led to acquisition by Xoom.com which merged with Snap.com within two weeks. Helped merge because Xoom.com needed an innovative email platform as part of its portfolio.

What's your favorite non-business book?
Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann... time can pass you by in the blink of an eye - then suddenly decades have passed and you are still on that mountain.
If money were not an issue, what would you be doing right now?
Running a music shop somewhere (I did this for awhile) or running house concerts to bring together a more focused artistic community in some small town. Also spending more time helping someplace like the Southern Poverty Law Center.
What words of advice would you give your younger self?
Don't be scared of risk or speaking your mind. It's all OK.
What's the most creative thing you've ever done?
Made a bunch of home tapes of my songs and distributed worldwide - had them played on underground Serbian radio (American music pirate station) and one of my favorite songwriters praised one of the songs I wrote. Made me proud.
What's your super power?
Unifying views across disagreeing factions to some cohesive strategy.

Understanding Computers and Cognition: A New Foundation for Design (Winograd and Flores): A look at the need for contract between user and technologist in order to fulfill requirements.
