First engineer and led the engineering team at SideTour, which I'm immensely proud of. We connected people to unique individuals that provided them amazing and memorable experiences. Our business was acquired by Groupon in 2013, where I helped build the New York engineering presence and ran engineering for the GrouponLive business. Prior to that, I worked at Pivotal Labs with four different clients (all early-stage startups) in the New York office. My first role was at iRobot, where I was a mechanical engineer for the Government & Industrial Robotics Division, and later moonlit for the startup Healthcare Division, doing hardware and software prototyping, market research, and pretty much anything we needed at the time.
Describe the most impressive thing you've done.Everyone should read High-Output Management by Andy Grove for the block-and-tackle techniques. But I love recommending The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz, because I think every leader in a startup needs to be prepared for wartime.
Exactly what I'm doing now, except without the fundraising part.
