What's the most useful business-related book you've ever read?
The Founder's Dilemmas
What's your favorite non-business book?
Uncle Scrooge comics... though I guess they are sort of business books.
If money were not an issue, what would you be doing right now?
I guess filling out forms on Angel List.
What words of advice would you give your younger self?
Go work at Google in 98 instead of starting DreamHost. Don't have a home birth. Go (even further) all in on Bitcoin, sell it all (not on mtgox) at $1,000, buy it back at $200, put it all into the eth pre-sale. Then sell at $4K and buy BCH at $80.
What's the most creative thing you've ever done?
Founding DreamHost? Or maybe Bitcoin Builder? Or the children's books I'm working on now? Or "creating" the four kids I'm writing them for!
Which founders or startups do you most admire?
Ones who bootstrap, especially solo founders.
What's your super power?
Freezing time.
What's the best way for people to get in touch with you?
By car.
What words of wisdom do you live by?
There are no silver bullets. The 80/20 rule. Everybody is interesting. Life is what happens to you while you plan for the future. Start from first principals. Actually do the math. Start something. Good enough is good enough. Never trust a fart.
What aspects of your work are you most passionate about?
Helping others and making something new.
What was the most impactful class you took in school?
Financial economics and/or databases.
What's something you wish you had done years earlier?
Set out on my own.
What's an obstacle you've overcome?
The death of my son.
