Co-founder Spire. Does tech/biz/everything. 2x Entrepreneur. Started/raised funding/sold company in China. Improv is life. Studied physics & theater at @Stanford University.
I started my first company in High School - creating Virtual Flashcards. I grew that shareware business to 500k users utilizing then largely unknown SEM and A/B testing techniques.
At Stanford, I studied physics and theater - IMHO one is the foundation of engineering the other an applied study of human interaction. I managed a theater group and fell in love with Improv.
I then jumped back into the ed-tech space with Idapted, a company I started in Beijing. We raised two rounds of funding, grew to be the largest 1:1 provider of online English training in China and sold in 2011.
I also started and grew Beijing Improv into the largest improv comedy group in Asia - touching tens of thousands of people. Beijing Improv raises money for an NGO called HuaDan where I sit on the board.
I then created Brainpage, a boutique big data technology & services firm in Beijing working with major advertising clients on time-stamped data. This big data technology + team is used for Spire.
