I've been a growth leader at eight startups through three acquisitions, including as CEO of a Y Combinator company.
I was employee two for a lead-generation network. My team and I secured all distribution, leading to acquisition by Experian. Post-acq., I took over full management of the company. We grew from $19M to $48M in two years.
In 2010, my best friend and I founded Earbits - streaming radio with the Google Adwords business model. We gained entry into Y Combinator. I raised $1.7M from Matt Mullenweg, Charles River Ventures, Geoff Ralston, and others. I led marketing - 15k bands, 600+ record labels, and 315k registered users. I led product development of web, Roku, iPhone and Android apps with 4+ star ratings and 500k downloads.
In 2015, we were acq. by You42. I've since led biz dev for a YC retail SaaS co. and now lead an accelerator for the Queensland University of Technology.
I've written two children's books and am now illustrating them.

Painting in Mexico.
Though it's difficult to say which is the most creative, I probably have to say creating a children's book where I inserted illustrated characters into real world photograph backgrounds that I shot myself all over the world.
The founders of GOAT. I had the privilege of going through Y Combinator with them and we knew from day one that they would be wildly successful, even as their original idea struggled. It's not possible to be more disciplined, hard working or kind.
Storytelling.
My email address is pretty easily found but Angel List, LinkedIn or an intro will also work just fine.
Though I am not always successful, I believe strongly in the Golden Rule - treat others as you would like to be treated.
Problem solving and helping people. I also love getting creative and storytelling.
In the 8th grade I had a terrible science teacher who simply did not like me. He gave me a C when I deserved better and put me on a fast track to dropping out. Leaving school early and starting my career is why I am who I am today.
I usually don't think about things this way because changing one choice is bound to impact others, but I wish I had discovered how much I love painting earlier in life.
