    About
    Achievements

I mortgaged my house to found the first public school in Nashville to graduate 100% of its students and have them all accepted to a 4-year college. After seeing the need for more high-performing schools in Nashville, I grew that first school from my living room into a 5 school organization that served over 2,000 students, 300 employees, and had a budget of over $17 million. In the course of growing the school, I raised over $10 million in start-up and growth capital and hired a 15-member executive team to manage the growth of the organization. After seeing the first graduating class reach our goal, I stepped aside to run for Mayor of Nashville in 2014. My most impressive accomplishment is that since I've left, the organization has continued to graduate every class, has added a new school, and my transition from the organization hasn't slowed their growth or results.

Describe the most impressive thing you've done.
