Founder, Quepasa Corp (NYSE/AMEX/Nasdaq: QPSA), (yes, Quepasa traded on all three markets..long story.) Was founder/CEO 1997-1999, 6/24/1999 IPO (grew the company from zero to peak $500 million+ public market value), CEO again 2002-2007, another market cap increase >$150 million during my 2nd run as CEO 2nd, exit early 2007. Quepasa became the first publicly traded Social Network in the U.S., (yes it's true, *fact check* Friendster, Myspace never went public!) with over 50 million users while trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market in 2007. (CNBC named Quepasa as the first, Linkedin, RenRen didn't go public until 2011, Facebook in 2012!) Sold Quepasa on 2nd exit $200MM valuation to Rick Scott who is now Governor of Florida. Quepasa merged/changed name in 2012, today it's the same company but is now known as MeetMe, still trades publicly (Nasdaq: MEET), acquired Skout in June of 2016 for $55 million cash, also Tagged, and hi5. Current total combined base is well above >100 million users.
Describe the most impressive thing you've done.Have been around tech projects forever, since I was a kid. Have seen quite a bit in my time. Always looking for new projects that can help people. Let's make some $ while educating the masses. Among others, would like to work on stuff that creates jobs as I'm concerned about job creation in the U.S.
