What words of advice would you give your younger self?
Put yourself in front of people when you need nothing. Do one thing savagely well, Build relationships above all other things. Do the little things; they matter. Assign projects to the busiest person in the room...that's your doer. Enjoy the journey!
What's the most creative thing you've ever done?
In 2011, with Deepen Parikh (Courtside Ventures), we launched GlobalVC Sports to super-connect sports media and technology executives, entrepreneurs, and investors. We have since launched in New York, Boston, SF and London, and Sport Hiatus platform
Which founders or startups do you most admire?
Those with passion. Find a passionate entrepreneur with a good idea and bet on that tenacity all day long. That entrepreneur will navigate the waters to find success. It's all about the journey; so bet on great people.
What's your super power?
My ability to listen and retain while talking (I like to call it peripheral hearing). My backup would be super-connecting (it's who we are and what we do that defines us).
What's the best way for people to get in touch with you?
Definitely email. I try to at least see all incoming emails before i shut it down for the night.
What words of wisdom do you live by?
A mentor once told me to learn how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Another told me to always focus on the journey because if you don't enjoy the ride, the payoff may not be commensurate. Lastly, do the little things...they matter!
What's something you wish you had done years earlier?
Safari in the Masai Mara. Ride in a hot air balloon over the Cappadocia. Skydive. Raise seven figures to pursue my passion project. Proud to say that I've now done each. Lots more to do.
What's an obstacle you've overcome?
Managing difficult people...I have worked with (and for) some of the most infamously challenging executives in the industry.

Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher and William Ury

The Visual Display of Quantitative Information by Edward Tufte
If money were not an issue, what would you be doing right now?
Exploring the world with my family. Investing in people.

Focus on the experience economy; life is about the collection of experiences -- not things!
