    About
    Achievements

I am an investor, but at heart I am a builder.
As a VC, I led MassVentures' investments in Ginkgo Bioworks (SPAC IPO), ClearGov (acquired), Spiro, and MachineMetrics, and won the approval for FairMarkit.
As a sales person and equity research analyst, I helped build a boutique investment bank in the Pacific Northwest into a mid-size bank acquired by Wells Fargo. I established the first internet coverage for that boutique bank and grew it to a business that generated more than $4 million in commissions annually.
I have been training and teaching martial arts consistently for 30 years.

    Q&A
What's the most useful business-related book you've ever read?

"The hard things about hard things" by Peter Levine is up there for me.

If money were not an issue, what would you be doing right now?

Investing in the most compelling founders I find for the things I want to see in the world (oh, wait I do that already ;), teaching Tulen, and surfing around the globe.

What words of advice would you give your younger self?

Be fearless in asking for help.
