Hugh manages a +$150M (AUM) portfolio of startups, representing ~$5BN in combined market capitalization. The startups range in size from 3 person teams to unicorns with 500+... more staff. His role is to increase total portfolio value, provide qualified investment recommendations, secure participation rights, and develop partnership opportunities.
Day to day, it’s an energetic mix of business development and corporate advisory, with an emphasis on mentorship and relationship management. Activities include fundraising & corporate strategy, deck development, financial modeling, M&A support, investor introductions, and business development.
In addition to portfolio support, Hugh also works with the executive team as a subject matter expert; with the investment and legal teams to facilitate transactions; with product managers on the development of new tooling; and the partnership teams on corporate development and partnership opportunities for the portfolio.
