Achievements
• Eli led the team that invented and pioneered Ambient Intelligence, a paradigm for human-centric environments (anticipatory, embedded, context aware, personalized, and adaptive). Research is growing at dedicated Ambient Intelligence Labs at Stanford, MIT’s Media Lab, National Univ of Singapore, NTT, and Philips. (Key support via EU Commission grant of € 3.7 Bil).
• As an entrepreneur, Eli founded, developed, and sold several ventures including Euro-Profile / iProfile (acquired by Virgo Capital ’08), Palo Alto Ventures (acquired by 21st Century Partners ’04), and Kandahar Designs (acquired by InterLink).
• As a VC, Eli headed the corporate venture capital programs at Compaq, Tandem Computer, and UB Networks. He also founded and led Palo Alto Ventures and its innovative scenario based investment process.
