    About
    Achievements

I am Managing Director of Hack VC, an investment fund that invests in early-stage startups.

I also manage several syndicates/funds on AngelList (personal, Open Source, and Enterprise Security) with small teams of partners.

I wrote a best-selling book on Enterprise Java, mentored at 3 accelerators, built the largest independent Java developer community (TheServerSide.com), created international conferences for programmers, created Ghostfire Games which built Rage of the Gladiator [awarded game-of-the-year for iOS, millions of users, also for iOS, Android, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS].

I was recently CEO of HackHands, which is doubling the speed of software development worldwide (acquired by Pluralsight). I founded hacksummit.org, the world's largest programming conference, and founded hackpledge.org, a movement for developers to give-back and help one another.

I add value to my portfolio companies via recruiting engineers, advice/help, and fundraising.
