I fell down the crypto rabbit hole in late 2015 thanks to my friend Brian Forde. I dug deeply into the Ethereum ecosystem, returning to heads-down, hands-on, individual contribution as a software engineer after a season of leadership and management roles. I am comfortable simultaneously delivering elegant solutions with my code and managing software engineering teams in dynamic startup environments.
I have co-authored two books, both published by O'Reilly:
• Hands-on Smart Contract Development with Solidity and Ethereum: From fundamentals to deployment
• Apprenticeship Patterns: Guidance for the aspiring software craftsman
I helped create, and was a minority owner of Obtiva, Mad Mimi, and Dev Bootcamp, which were all acquired.
I have also been an active angel investor since 2012. Through my work with my portfolio companies, I've learned many important lessons about early stage leadership and supported many founders along the way.
