I taught Calculus sections culminating in a University-wide final, and the students achieved unprecedented results. Instead of the 40% Ds and Fs, the students earned 1/3 As, 1/3 Bs, and 1/3 Cs. And it happened three quarters in a row (and with primarily students of color). Why is this relevant? Because I focused all our time in the classroom on the kinds of small-group interaction and games we're replicating today, virtually, at MaestroConference.
