Lead Front-end Engineer
I led the front-end engineering team developing Nylas Mail (https://github.com/nylas/N1), a modern, open-source mail client built with React and Electron. I designed and implemented... more significant parts of the app, including a high-performance, observable SQLite ORM (http://github.com/bengotow/electron-rxdb) and a set of React elements that inject and isolate interface elements written by plugin developers. I spoke at ReactEurope 2015 and co-organize the Bay Area Electron meet-up.

First Engineering Hire
Implemented core features of their micropublishing product in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, including document revision handling, real-time collaboration with Socket.IO, analytics... more collection and storage on DynamoDB, and a full-featured API for third parties. Worked with the CTO to build and maintain an extensive test suite and learned AngularJS and Backbone to build several features, including image cropping and scaling in the app's WYSWIG editor and an analytics dashboard.

I built, shipped, and marketed a runtime debugger for iOS apps that used method-swizzling to inject itself into running apps and extract view information. In the early days of the App Store, I built and marketed several painting apps that were featured by Apple, one of which was included in an iPhone Christmas commercial!
