Before starting Fabule to create smart and expressive device, I co-founded a design studio with Bruno Nadeau. Our creations include an interactive, spatially distributed exhibit in which participants cooperate to build the International Space Station, on display long-term in Montréal's Cosmodôme; and the experience design for Treatful's restaurant gift certificate service, which was subsequently acquired by OpenTable.
I received a PhD in Information and Computer Sciences at UC Irvine. My dissertation research, on mobility and mobile technology use in urban SE Asia, was funded by an NSF research fellowship and a private grant for entrepreneurial research projects.
While working at Adobe in 1999, at the age of 19, I created some of the first prototypes of the full-color icons initially enabled by the release of Mac OSX. I've also worked in interaction design at Microsoft Research, Intel Research, and Xerox PARC.
