Volunteer at in-prison events to help future entrepreneurs
Volunteer, Mentoring, Peer Advisory · PEP is an 6 month entrepreneurship program for felons in Texas to learn the skills needed to start their own… · More business on release. While Texas has roughly a 25% recidivism rate - nearly 1 in 4 released felons go back to prison - PEP's recidivism is only 7%. These men learn what it takes to plan a business, finance and forecast, find customers, and launch their companies. Volunteering is an incredible way to help these men turn their lives around, and it's inspiring to see what they're able to accomplish.
The 6 month program culminates in a business plan pitch competition, many of which rival pitches I've seen here in the free-world. The Graduation event is a celebration of their hard earned achievement, and the award of a Balyor certificate of entrepreneurship.
Volunteer with a rotating cast of ~30 others each month to mentor, advise, and encourage the participants in PEP in their business plan and pitch.
