Full Stack Engineer

OpsLayer is seeking a full-stack developer to join our distributed team in building innovative Web3 dApps, APIs, and community libraries. We collaborate with projects developing blockchains and blockchain-enabled applications within the Polkadot and Ethereum ecosystems.

Role Overview
This role primarily involves development in TypeScript; our decentralized applications are built with Next.js, utilizing Mantine and Amplify, and rigorously tested with Playwright. We manage a diverse mix of open-source and proprietary libraries and integrate backend functionality through AWS and GCP services when needed.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer with a strong background in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, as well as hands-on experience in blockchain technologies, including crypto wallets, smart contracts, and dApp creation and testing.

You will collaborate with developers, designers, and DevOps team members in the Web Application team, contributing to long-term projects in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on productive coding, not on endless meetings and scrum rituals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features for web applications, including backend integrations where necessary.
• Maintain and expand libraries used by the team and broader ecosystem.
• Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Enhance automation pipelines and test suites to improve build and deployment efficiency.
• Provide troubleshooting and support for dApp issues as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and ecosystem partners.
• Produce high-quality software documentation to capture system design and functionality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in web application development.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JSON RPC, React, and working with web-based APIs.
• Strong experience in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Familiarity with Web3, Ethereum, and EVM technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience with Polkadot.js and Substrate is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of blockchain, crypto, and dApp development on other platforms is advantageous.
• Experience with the AWS and GCP ecosystem is a plus.

We do consider candidates with the right technical background but without experience in Web3.
