Senior Software Engineer

Based in Philadelphia but remote-friendly, Jawnt is a seed-stage start-up at the intersection of fintech, HR tech, and mobility.

About The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our high performing engineering team as we continue to grow the business and execute across multiple challenging domains.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end web functionality using Next.js and FastAPI using existing components and patterns
• Develop and optimize high-volume message queues for efficient and reliable processing of business-critical workflows
• Ship code that improves our infrastructure, continuous delivery, observability, and internal tooling across the entire stack
• Improve others through code reviews, thorough documentation, and mentorship.
• Participate in the architectural review board, providing valuable technical advice and contributing to strategic technical discussions

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with strong computer science fundamentals
• Experience in our technology stack- Next.js, Python, Flask, FastAPI, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog
• Experience with unit testing, functional testing, and acceptance testing in a continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment
• Deep understanding of relational databases, normalization, and SQL
• Deep understanding of modern cloud architecture (containerization, k8s, monitoring)
• Language agnostic

• Salary: $140-155,000
• Equity: 0.5-0.2%
