Position: UE Aerial Vehicle Simulation Engineer
As a UE Aerial Vehicle Simulation Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing realistic and immersive simulation environments using Unreal Engine. You'll create detailed virtual worlds, integrate advanced sensors, and establish real-time communication with autonomous flight algorithms for robust testing and validation. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and performance of our autonomous aerial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unreal Engine Development: Build high-fidelity aerial vehicle simulation environments, including detailed airport and runway models.
- Sensor Integration: Integrate and simulate various sensors (cameras, LiDAR, radar) to generate realistic sensor data.
- Real-Time Simulation: Establish real-time communication between UE and autonomous flight algorithms using ROS Integration or similar methods.
- Flight Control Simulation: Develop accurate flight control models to simulate the dynamic behavior of aerial vehicles.
- User Interface: Design and implement intuitive user interfaces for interaction with the simulation environment.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize simulation performance to ensure real-time execution and efficient resource utilization.
- Algorithm Verification: Provide tools and analysis techniques to validate the performance of autonomous flight algorithms.
- Technical Documentation: Document technical work clearly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Game Development, Simulation Technology, or related fields.
- Proven experience in Unreal Engine development, especially in the context of aerial vehicles or autonomous systems.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
- Experience with simulation tools like Carla, Gazebo, AirSim, or similar.
- Proficiency in flight simulation software (Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, etc.).
- Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation.
- Familiarity with ROS and real-time communication protocols.
- Understanding of sensor integration and data processing techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ROS 2 and its data interaction modules.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (Blender, Maya).
- Knowledge of computer vision, SLAM, or multi-sensor fusion.
- Experience in flight control simulation and dynamics modeling.
- Familiarity with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, PCL) and optimization techniques.
