Pumpkin is looking for animal lovers to join us on our mission to create a happier, healthier world for pets and their people. A pet claims adjuster reviews claims submitted by people on behalf of their pets to determine whether their insurance policy applies, and how much should be paid. If you’re passionate about caring for animals, have hands-on experience working in a veterinary setting, and are looking for the flexibility of working from home all while gaining a new skill set and broadening your career horizons, this may be the role for you!
This will be a fully remote position with the ability to work from a home office environment.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with CX to provide customer service, guidance, and education to Pumpkin policyholders through every step of the claims process.
- Review veterinary bills for accuracy and to determine whether coverage applies for claimed costs.
- Investigate claims to determine if coverage applies based on applicable insurance policies.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders in the organization to give technical knowledge and advice.
- Communicate with veterinary providers to obtain further information and records as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years as a veterinary medical professional or veterinary technician or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- All-around team player who is a self-motivated, fast learner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Able to interpret and analyze documents and insurance policies.
- Eligible to be licensed as a Property & Casualty adjuster.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in pet insurance.
- Experience in other lines of insurance.
