ROLE
This role is part of the Payroll & People Operations team and will lead the monthly and annual UK payroll process ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are adhered to. The role will also focus on implementing best practices and leading process improvement initiatives for all UK benefits as well as the payroll. The role will also involve M&A integration work and accountability for the management and adoption of UK benefits and for onboarding and offboarding process deployment, working closely with HR business partners to ensure a fantastic employee experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage the end-to-end process for People administration through the employee life cycle in the UK, including all the necessary legal proceedings for onboarding and offboarding
- Lead the UK payroll process with the Payroll Specialist, end-to-end, both monthly and annually, ensuring accuracy, compliance and regulatory changes are adhered to
- Within [3 months] of joining, undertake an in-depth UK payroll due diligence exercise
- Ability to work on a variety of different payroll-related projects, ie assessment of all components, creation of new elements needed for payroll, and management of each payroll with HMRC
- Ensure documentation of processes is updated in a timely manner, including across payroll and benefit management
- Review and verify payroll reports, including salaries, taxes, equity, and deductions
- Address payroll-related queries and discrepancies from employees or relevant authorities
- Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on standard People Team policies and procedures, such as annual leave or family leave
- Alongside the central Total Rewards team, manage the UK-specific benefits, supporting the development and integration of new and/or existing benefits to ensure that they are market-competitive, internally equitable, and cost-effective
- Responsible for the administration and processing of UK benefits - while covering the compliance administration and functional reporting
- Manage the UK Pension schemes, ensuring compliance at all times
- Stay updated with changes in payroll legislation and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Continuously improve People Team processes by identifying challenges and recommending opportunities to improve
WHO YOU ARE
- A professional with 7+ years of proven experience working within Payroll and Benefits
- Experience in UK Pension and other benefit management and legislation
- Meticulous attention to detail and proven analytical skills
- Strong communication skills are essential, able to communicate with stakeholders
- The ability to multitask, prioritize, and take the initiative
- Problem-solving and investigating skills
- An advanced user of MS Office (in particular Excel) and HRIS software (Workday and ADP iHCM desirable)
- Workday or ADP system experience is preferable
- Knowledgeable of the UK statutory and legislative regulations
- Desirable - experienced in managing payroll transition and implementation with a new provider
- Desirable - working knowledge of SOX compliance and previous experience with both internal and external audit processes
