Team Overview:
The Search and Discovery Product Team is responsible for creating a world-class search and discovery shopping experience for our customers, from “intent” based shopping to delighting the customer with serendipitous product discovery on every visit.
We are obsessed with optimizing the entire search customer journey, from query understanding and search relevance to personalized and category/mission-aware search and recommendation experiences. We believe the experience of finding the right fresh groceries delivered to your door the next morning should be personal and different from shopping for a new laptop or your next pair of jeans.
The Role
With the latest advances in AI/ML, we have the opportunity to rethink how recommendations work. To deliver unique, high-quality experiences to our customers that were traditionally outside the realm of possibility. This role will focus on ensuring a productive and seamless collaboration between the consumer experience team, who build front-end experiences and S&D recommendations team, who build the core AI/ML algorithms.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will ensure the teams deliver the highest-quality products and services predictably while meeting technical needs. You will guide both strategy and tactical decision-making to deliver complex cross-team programs. You will also partner with product managers across Coupang to help support the strategic deliverables while working with engineering to support important technical efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall coordination, quality, and productivity and will be the primary point of contact for consumer experience and recommendation team.
Manage technology programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and successful on-time delivery.
Work with product and program owners to come up with innovative solutions for their business problems.
Work on massively distributed, large-scale systems, storage solutions, applications, and new platforms.
Utilize technical acumen in working with large, cross-functional teams.
Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels of the company
In addition to the recommendation scope. The TPM role also includes leading few mission-critical core infrastructure programs across the S&D organisation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Comp. Science, Maths, or Business
At least 8 years experience as a Technical program manager managing large-scale cross-functional projects across organizations
Bi-lingual across English and Korean.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
