Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will assist the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in various tasks related to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in FP&A and provides an opportunity to learn about financial operations within AccuWeather.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the FP&A team in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Help maintain financial models and databases used for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
Assist in analyzing financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Participate in the forecasting and month-end processes by gathering data, preparing reporting templates, and performing variance analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect relevant information for financial analysis and reporting.
Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and analyses as assigned by the FP&A Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field from an accredited institution.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions. Understanding of financial statements and performance metrics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with forecasting and financial modeling is a plus.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a desire to learn and grow in finance.
Relevant internship(s) or coursework related to financial analysis, budgeting, or data analysis.
