Our mission

Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 110+ million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and attainable. We’ve started by creating rent payment tools that enable renters to pay on the schedule they define and build credit in the process, currently serving thousands of renters. We are led by a team of second-time founders Rob Whiting (ex-BCG, Rubicon) and Kirill Moizik (Eco, Technion, Grubhub). It's backed by investors such as Starting Line, Clocktower Ventures, Gilgamesh Ventures (Petal co-founders), and angels such as William Hockey and Zach Perret (Co-founders of Plaid) who led Boom's pre-seed round (joined by Harry Stebbings and others from places like Cash App, Mint House, Landis, and Redfin).


You will lead B2B partner onboardings for Boom's products. You will report directly to the Head of Product, and work closely with the Co-founders (CEO, CTO), engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams. You’ll need to be able to toggle between deep detail (e.g. product requirements, user experience flows, payment flows, technical documentation) while keeping the broader business strategy, customer needs, and product direction in mind. This role is a great fit for someone who is highly-organized, works well cross-functionally, and wants to have a lot of impact. Lastly, in this role you’ll be involved in senior-level company decisions and work closely with a talented team from places like BCG, Amazon, Grubhub, Eco, and others. Given the seniority of the role, this role is based in Austin with our leadership.

What you'll do

  • Customer-centric front line leadership: Lead partner onboardings to use Boom products, including deeply understanding customer needs and pain points. Map their existing processes and requirements to translate into success using Boom products. Educate and advise partners on recommended deployment models and solutions.
  • Independent delivery: deliver, track, and maintain accountability for multiple onboardings simultaneously. Exercise judgment, creativity, and influence to navigate challenges and drive project success.
  • Eye for product: Collect and report on customer feedback and feature requests. Translate learnings and feedback to our product roadmap. Support Boom's customer discovery. Understand and influence product direction and roadmap based on partner feedback.
  • Stakeholder management: Drive partner satistfaction with prompt external communication. Align internal stakeholders around milestone timelines and partner launch requirements by effictive internal communication (e.g., product, operations, legal). Define product features, legal requirements, and support model required for each partner and faciliate handover to operations after launch.
  • Continuous improvement: Measure and decrease partner onboarding time.
  • Domain expertise: deeply understand customers, competitors, vendors, industry trends, etc.

What you'll need

  • 2+ years of experience, ideally as a product manager, program manager, project manager, account manager, and/or management consultant.
  • Ownership
  • Experience in a client/customer-facing role
  • Experience at an early stage venture-backed company
  • Experience working with data (e.g. able to manipulate Redash queries or SQL)
  • Strong bias to action with an ability to conceptualize and plan
  • Strong communicator and writer (e.g. you have plenty of past writing samples such as product releases, PRDs, customer presentations)
  • Other table stakes stuff - analytical ability, attention to detail, organization skills, personable demeanor, competitive spirit
  • Preferred: Some technical background / computer science degree (our stack includes React Native, Ruby, JavaScript, Postgres)
  • Preferred: An eye for product; desire to move into product management
  • Preferred: fintech or proptech background
