About the Team
As a three and a half year old angel-backed startup you’ll work closely and cross-functionally with the entire Checkmate Equity team including co-founders and other equity administrators. Through cross functional collaboration you will receive training on various areas of the business including sales, Carta software, and operational strategy.
About You
Checkmate Equity is looking to hire a Brazil based Equity Administrator (EA) to help scale and grow the business through servicing our clients cap tables. As a Checkmate Equity EA you must truly be a self-starter, have strong written communication skills, and have an exceptional attention to detail.
What You'll Focus On
As an EA with Checkmate Equity, your main focus will be servicing our equity administration clients which entails managing new stock issuances, option issuances, transfers, amendments, terminations, conversions, 409a guidance, ASC-718 support, custom reporting, etc. In addition to supporting our equity admin clients, you will additionally assist with performing cap table audits, onboarding clients onto platforms such as Carta, and assisting other Checkmate Equity EA's.
What We're Looking For
- English Fluency - fluent in both verbal and written english
- Bachelor’s Degree - bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Self Starter - flexible, independent, driven, and ambitious
- Communication - you must be able to effectively communicate and navigate conversations over the phone, email, and video conference
- Attention to Detail - a strong attention to detail is a must
- CEP or ECA Designation - equity certifications from the Certified Equity Professional Institute from Santa Clara University, preferred
- Legal - Background in corporate legal, preferred
- Equity Administration Experience - experience managing cap tables on behalf of companies, preferred
- Carta Experience - experience with Carta, preferred
- CRM Experience - experience with a CRM such as HubSpot, preferred
