Data Engineer

Your key responsibilities include the following:

• Building and maintaining pipelines of structured and unstructured data to help make data-driven investment decisions. Your proactive role will help shape where and how we invest.
• Supporting research and analysis to support our portfolio companies, including setting up and maintaining analytics dashboards and deriving actionable insights for the investment team.
• Spearheading the productization of the fund by automatic deal flow management, analytics, and reporting.
• Analyzing on-chain data and patterns to provide insights for Ethereal Ventures research.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelors or masters in EECS is ideal.
• 2+ years in a relevant data science or software engineering role that required familiarity with SQL, Dune Analytics, BigQuery/Map Reduce, and one or more of Typescript, Rust, Go, Python, JavaScript, Jupyter & various charting libraries.
• Experience in building data analytics systems and databases, maintaining complex scraping pipelines, and managing git and AWS stacks.
• Experience in building and deploying full-stack apps using modern JS frameworks and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of crypto/web3 with experience in querying the Ethereum blockchain for artifacts.
• Ability to bring an ownership mindset to the acquisition and analysis of data.

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and GraphQL.
• DevOps and configuration management.
• Ability to work independently to a high standard across multiple projects with a remote team on a cross-functional basis.
• Ability to initiate new projects and carry them out from beginning to end, paired with strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Deep interest in emerging crypto themes relating to protocol infrastructure, MEV, and developer tooling, etc.
